I missed out on him a couple years prior, when he was playing for the Philadelphia Phillies. He came over by the players parking lot after a Spring Training game in Clearwater, Florida. I accidentally left his card in the car that day.

The picture above shows my son with his coaches after winning a championship tournament in February, 2023 in Bradenton, Florida. My son can be seen holding up a baseball which was retrieved after he hit his first out of the park home run!

Phil Mankowski signed a 1979 Topps baseball card for me on February 9, 2019 during an MLB alumni autograph signing at Tropicana Field during the Tampa Bay Rays Fan Fest. Phil mentioned that he remembered speaking with me a few months prior, when he met my son at a youth baseball clinic. He said that my son stood out to him because of his natural ability and footwork while fielding ground balls at the age of 7. He added for us to continue working, because he believes my son can only improve as he grows! Quite a nice compliment!
