Mickey Lolich
My son and I met Mickey Lolich at Tropicana Field during the Ted Williams Hitters Hall of Fame Dinner on February 1, 2020. Mickey was being honored with the Roy Halladay Pitching Achievement Award partly for his great career as well as his dominance during the 1968 World Series which he was named World Series MVP. Mickey signed an 8x10 picture for me and a 1993 Ted Williams baseball card for my son. As he was signing my son's card, my son was hovering closely watching Mickey's hand as he signed. Mickey stopped half-way through and said, "You're hovering pretty close... Did I misspell my name?" My son began to laugh and then asked Mr. Lolich if he could have his picture with him. Mickey was very friendly and agreed!
