I spotted Bobby Abreu in the food court at Countryside Mall in Clearwater, FL one night in 2003. The mall was just about to close as he was buying ice cream at a Haagen-Dazs. While he was waiting for his order, I approached him (To see if he remembered me from when I worked as a bat boy a few years prior) Unfortunately, he didn't remember me. Without taking too much of his time, I told him I had a Phillies jersey in my car and asked if I could bring it in and have him sign it. The mall was practically empty, so I wasn't drawing any attention. He gave me his permission and signed it a few minutes later. I thanked him and was on my way.
