I had originally missed out on meeting Merandy Gonzalez earlier in the 2017 season when he was with the St. Lucie Mets. He was team mates with Tim Tebow and getting autographs proved difficult that day as everybody was there to see the mega celebrity. Lucky for me, Merandy was later traded to the Miami Marlins organization and was placed at their advanced A-Ball team, the Jupiter Hammerheads. Just like the the St. Lucie Mets, also in the Florida State League. I finally caught up with Merandy on August 26, 2017 after a game at Lecom Park in Bradenton, FL, the home of the Bradenton Marauders. Merandy signed an 8x10 picture for me as he was waiting with other team mates for an Uber ride.
