I first met David Wells in 1992. Before my brother Dan and I adopted the rule of 1 autograph per player, we would get multiples... No reason, just because. David was a regular at Lansbrook Golf Club, which was walking distance from our house. After Mr. Wells was traded to the Detroit Tigers, we purchased this 8x10 photo. Mr. Wells was always generous with the autographs, but this time we received a different response... He said, "I'm sorry guys, but I don't sign Tigers cards." I responded back by saying "But this isn't a card." I guess he thought I was right!
