Todd Stottlemyre
I first met Todd Stottlemyre in 1992 at Lansbrook Golf Club. Todd was a regular at that course, especially prior to Spring Training. My brother Dan and I would see him all the time and we got to know each other in passing. He was always very nice to us. On March 4, 1994, I was at the Blue Jays opening Spring Training game against the Baltimore Orioles. I was the lucky kid that day selected from the stands to be the bat boy for the day. As I was escorted through the clubhouse to be fitted for a uniform, we passed by Todd's locker. Todd spotted me and said, "Hey Brian, what're you doing here?" This was the moment that I felt like a bad ass! The clubhouse attendant that was with me asked how we knew each other. Todd explained from the golf course. Todd then handed me a baseball and a pen and told me to get a team ball signed for myself! This was such a fun day and I consider my introduction into the baseball world.
